Somewhere I'm Human (Summer of Love Version)

by Boy Omega

/

about

Here’s a brand new summer single from Boy Omega. It’s a new version of the song ”Somewhere I’m Human” which was originally released on the album ”The Black Tango” back in 2006. Martin re-recorded this song because people kept asking him to play it on live shows and he was not 100% happy with the original version.

The song starts off in a quiet, acoustic Iron & Wine/Elliott Smith-mood, then the electronic beat enters, followed by violins and slowly but surely the song builds and builds and finally bursts into a Springsteen/Coldplay stadium rock explosion around the 2:20 mark.

lyrics

Take me far away
But don’t put me on a stage
I am not a clown

This won’t be the last time
I’ll let my fingers cross
and then touch this open wound
Wide open

I’ve had a dream
I’ve had so many dreams
About not waking up again

Where I push and scream and shout
’Til the blood pours from my mouth
It’s not red, it is black
Like poison

My god it’s getting late
But who cares about time when you can’t sleep?
My god it’s getting late
But who cares about time when you can’t sleep
cause you’re afraid to
Cause you’re afraid to

Drive me all the way
But don’t put me on a plate
I am not your hot meal

Somewhere I’m human
Somewhere I’m human
Somewhere I’m human
Look me in the eye, somewhere I’m human

Somewhere I’m human
